KythOS is a Fedora-based atomic Linux image built for gaming and productivity. It uses the bootc / Universal Blue toolchain to deliver an immutable, OCI image-based system that updates atomically and can roll back instantly.
- Immutable & atomic — base system is read-only; updates are whole image swaps
- Gaming ready at first boot — Steam, Proton, MangoHud, GameMode pre-installed
- Flatpak-first — apps are sandboxed and independent from the base OS
- Distrobox — run any Linux environment as a container from your desktop
- Fedora Kinoite base — up-to-date Mesa, hardware support, and Fedora's ecosystem
- CachyOS kernel — BORE scheduler, low-latency tuning, and better gaming performance
- Community built — open source, PRs welcome
