Hi there 👋

I'm Zhicheng Zhang, a Master's student in Computer Science at the University of Southern California.

I'm passionate about building AI-powered software systems, with interests spanning machine learning, distributed systems, backend infrastructure, and full-stack development. I enjoy designing production software that combines intelligent models with scalable, reliable system architecture.

My experience includes developing LLM-powered applications, event-driven services, backend infrastructure, data pipelines, and observability systems using Python, TypeScript, FastAPI, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Docker, and cloud platforms.

I'm particularly interested in engineering problems involving AI systems, scalable backend services, distributed architectures, and modern full-stack applications.

Outside of engineering, I enjoy fitness 💪, drawing 🎨, and writing ✍️.

🚀 I'm expected to graduate in May 2027 and am currently seeking New Grad / Entry-Level Software Development Engineer (SDE) opportunities, as well as full-time Spring 2027 internship opportunities. For Spring internships, I'm open to relocating, with a preference for opportunities in California and the broader West Coast.
